Tractor Trailer Accident on US 460 in Virginia Kills 1 and Injures 1

US 430 in Virginia was blocked Wednesday following an accident involving a 2007 Ford Focus and tractor trailer. According to the Virginia State Police, at approximately 2:00 pm, the Focus, traveling east, crossed over the center line and collided with a tractor-trailer heading west.

The tractor-trailer left the road, struck and tree and immediately caught fire. The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the focus was airlifted to VCU Medical Center after the Focus overturned in the middle of the four lane highway. No word yet on the condition of the driver. Names have not yet been released by Virginia Police.

The accident occured near the Sussex County/Prince George’s County Line, blocking traffic and closing the road until around 8:30 Wednesday evening.
