Our client was riding his bike in Charlottesville on the right-hand side of the road when a driver, going in the same direction in the right lane, made a sudden right turn without paying attention to his surroundings or turning on his blinker. He struck our client with his car, which caused him to flip over his handlebars and land on his head and left side. Fortunately, he was wearing a helmet and did not suffer any head injuries. He headed to the hospital and received X-rays and a CT scan. As a result of those tests, he was diagnosed with a nondisplaced radial head fracture on his left elbow and a nondisplaced acute fracture along the anterior medial tibial plateau along with a small knee joint effusion. He was fitted with a long arm plaster splint for his fractured left elbow and a knee brace. He was also evaluated for physical therapy.
