Our client was injured in a car incident that occurred on Route 620 in Fluvanna County, Virginia. At the time of the collision, our client was working on the side of the road engaged in a VDOT operation in an area clearly marked and identified as a work zone. A driver of a vehicle proceeded through the area, went off the left side of the road, and struck an embankment and overturned, causing several concrete blocks in the vehicle’s bed to fly through the air, one striking our client in his right leg. The Virginia State Police responded to the scene, issuing improper driving charges against the driver.

As a result of the collision, our client sustained a fracture to his right leg, a hematoma to his right calf, abrasions of his arms, a sprained ankle, and multiple contusions to his left hip and left leg. He was evaluated and treated at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. His leg was placed in a splint and he was released and instructed to follow up with his primary care physician and an orthopedic physician. He remained in the splint for months and once the fracture had healed, he was subsequently referred for physical therapy.

Our client incurred a total of $8,500 in medical expenses as a result of this accident.
